The Christmas Tree Lighting: A Magical Moment
One of the most anticipated events of the season, the Christmas Tree Lighting at Founders Park, officially kicked off the holiday festivities in Downtown Marion. Held immediately after the Lighted Truck Christmas Parade, this heartwarming event gathered families, friends, and visitors to witness the grand illumination of the beautifully decorated tree. The moment the tree lit up, the entire park was filled with warmth, joy, and the unmistakable spirit of the season.
Photos with Santa & The Grinch
The holiday fun didn’t stop there! Families had the chance to capture magical holiday moments with two of the season’s most iconic characters—Santa Claus and The Grinch. Whether children wanted to whisper their Christmas wishes to Santa or strike a playful pose with The Grinch, the Santa & Grinch Photo Event was a favorite among visitors. A special thank you goes out to RT 4 You Haul & Sheds LLC, who transported and set up Santa’s House—a festively decorated mobile structure—where these cherished photos took place right beside the sparkling tree.
Gingerbread Men Mural: A Sweet Photo Opportunity
Our gingerbread men are ready to welcome you to Founders Park in Downtown Marion! Visitors had a blast posing with the decorated mural with head cutouts for fun and festive holiday photos. A special thanks to the inmates from North Central Correctional Complex who painted this amazing mural. 🎄
Supporting Downtown While Spreading Cheer
Beyond the festive fun, the events at Founders Park encouraged visitors to shop and dine locally, making it a fantastic way to support Downtown Marion businesses. As families enjoyed the holiday magic, they also explored local shops, discovered unique gifts, and embraced the spirit of Small Business Saturday.
