Their new venture, Mike’s Deli on Main, has quickly become a downtown favorite, and their enthusiasm for the community is truly infectious. Heart of Downtown Award: Marcela Barrios
The Heart of Downtown Award was given to an individual who has dedicated years of unwavering support to our downtown community. We proudly recognized Marcela Barrios, owner of Baires Restaurant, for her 16 years of dedication to downtown revitalization. She has been a pioneer in our growth, providing encouragement and support to numerous businesses and individuals. Her kindness, generosity, and commitment to downtown Marion make her a beloved pillar of our community.
Community Champion Award: Bev Ford
The Community Champion Award honors an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication to the revitalization of downtown Marion. We proudly award Bev Ford from the Marion Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Bev has been an unwavering advocate for our community, from her time at the Palace Theatre to her continued efforts at the CVB. Her involvement in the Downtown Collaborative and her tireless promotion of local businesses and events have played a pivotal role in our downtown’s growth and success.
